Diamond Wedding Rings for Women

The wedding ring is meant to symbolize the never ending love and commitment between the two persons walking down the aisle. And if there  is one wedding ring that has remained a favorite for brides, it is the womens diamond wedding ring.

Whether you are the husband-to-be doing the shopping for the bride's ring or you have opted to check out what is available together, one thing you will quickly realize is that there are many different types of diamond wedding rings that you can choose from. Diamonds can be classified in many ways.

For instance diamonds come in different colors. First are the champagne colored diamonds which represent in the color of diamonds in their most widespread natural state. The pink diamond is probably the rarest diamond color and has an unmistakably deep pink shade.

Pink champagne diamonds are a blend of pink and champagne though the   champagne color is the more dominant. Then there is the white diamonds that provide the intense sparkle that so many have come to associate with diamonds. You can also find yellow, blue and green diamonds each coming in multiple color shades.

Another way in which diamonds for wedding rings can be classified is based on their cut. There is the Princess Cut which appears to fit very well with the tastes of the modern woman. Often set on a gold, platinum or silver ring, the diamond is cut to a square shape.

Then there is the Marquise Cut whose design creates an illusion that makes the diamond appear much larger than it really is. In the Marquise Cut, the length of the diamond is roughly twice its width. Then there is the timeless Round Cut diamond.

This is one cut that has an air of sophistication even though it is a design that has been on diamonds for a long time. Another ageless design is the Pear Cut. If you are looking for a diamond that appears to leap out of the ring, then the Pear Cut fits the bill.

Another thing to consider when looking for women diamond wedding rings is the clarity of the diamonds. The higher the clarity grade of the diamond, the less the impurities, scratches or trapped air bubbles it has.

When graded for clarity, diamonds can be classified as F (Flawless) which denotes a flawless diamond that has no flaws within or on its surface, IF (Internally Flawless) which denotes a diamond with external defects but none on its inside and VVS (Very Very Slight) which are diamonds that have flaws that are impossible to see except with over 10X magnification.

Other Clarity categories include VS (Very Slight) which are flaws that can be seen with less than 10X magnification but with difficulty, SI (Slightly Included) which will easily be viewed with less than 10X magnification and I which are diamonds with defects that are visible to the naked eye.

To be certain of the quality of diamond wedding rings you buy, always ensure the jewelry dealer you buy the ring from has an GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or AGS (American Gem Society) certificate.
